I didn't draw this, but I ran across it and just had to share. Take a look at Ruth. That's exactly the sort of style I wish I could command in my own artwork! It was not being able to do this sort of thing that pointed me toward comic book art. This piece is just so cool, I had to post it here!
It's good to be humble but don't belittle yourself! You have your style and this guy Valenzula has his. I'm sure if you drew a similar picture in your style I would drool over it.
ReplyDeleteNice of you to say, Mark, and I do appreciate it, but the difference in styles isn't as intentional as you'd think! When I'm drawing a pinup, this is the kind of look I'm shooting for. What actually comes out of my pencil is the style I've had to settle with. There's a reason I call myself a Cartoonist rather than an Artist (in addition to the fact that people who call themselves "Artists" always sound so pretentious)!
DeleteHi Rock, your work is very inspiring! I came to your blog after reading a note about the last issue of Tomb Of Terror... and what a surprise to see my artwork displayed here! I feel so flattered to know that you like it.
